The roof tent is compatible with almost every car model, as it depends on the roof racks. However, the roof tent must not protrude above the vehicle and must not exceed the roof load.
The total weight of the TJM roof tent is 64 kg for the Yulara model and 58 kg for the Boulia model.
If the roof tent is already mounted on the car roof, it takes about 15 minutes to set up.
Yes, the roof tent can also be used without an awning. However, the awning provides additional privacy, space and comfort with enough room for two camp beds without obstructing access to the sleeping area on the roof. Windows and doors on all sides provide maximum ventilation.
What is a roof tent?
Roof tents - also called car roof tents, roof box tents, car tents or tents for the car roof - are tents that you can attach to a car or roof rack. When folded, they resemble a large roof box. As soon as you want to sleep, you can unfold the tent in a few easy steps and set it up.
The folding roof tent is like a usual tent with a fixed underbody. The car roof tents have an integrated opening mechanism. And the floor shell is attached to a roof rack.
How is the roof tent attached to the vehicle?
All roof tents are attached in a similar way to a roof box. For this reason, the roof tent is sometimes called a roof box tent. To attach it to your vehicle, you only need a standard roof rack with two crossbars. This forms the basis. The aluminium crossbars are mounted parallel to each other on the car and the lower housing of the roof tent is attached to them with brackets.
The roof tent must not be wider than your car when driving. The weight also plays a role, because your vehicle must be designed for the corresponding load. Therefore, size and weight are two of many decisive criteria.
